Chemistry
Schooling is inseparable from the processes unfolding in the world. The social environment should therefore be considered, for it forms a coordinate system in which the student and the teacher find themselves today. In modern society, a person cannot acknowledge one’s own success if he/ she is not valued as an individual.
In the process of teaching Chemistry, I encourage my students to understand the present-day natural and scientific picture of the world, I point out the role of chemical science in solving such global problems of humanity as raw material, energy, food, and ecology. I try to cultivate a caring attitude to nature, develop ecological culture along with the skills of safe substance handling in everyday life. I draw learners' attention to the phenomena, processes and substances they encounter daily. I enrich chemical experiments with the elements of applied chemistry, emphasize the importance of observing safety rules. I resort to non-standard forms of classwork which promote the development of creativity. These are mostly summarizing classes in the form of trips, contests, chemical competitions. I promote individual work, including computer activity and work with other sources of information. Learners create individual and group-projects, presentations and discussions which take place in specially designed or specific topic classes. My role in such tasks is exclusively advisory on the subject of planning, defining goals and tasks, searching for information.
