There are performances that make you catch yourself thinking that you experienced the events alongside the characters — as if you were standing right there with them on stage. “Liteplo. The Story of One Hamlet” is exactly that kind of performance.

Our theater arts teachers invited the students to Zhytomyr for a special journey that brought together history, art, and lived experience.

It all began not at the theater, but with a tour of the State Archives of the Zhytomyr Region. And this was no coincidence.

There, the students were reminded of the dramatic events of 1917–1921 — a period of Ukraine’s struggle for independence, which later became the subject of the performance.

By immersing themselves in the historical context, the students were able to experience the meaning of the theatrical performance on a much deeper level.

Such trips are a vivid example of the #LearningThroughLiving approach — when knowledge is reinforced through emotional engagement, personal experience, and the interdisciplinary combination of history, art, and culture.

The journey left a deep impression on the students and became another step toward shaping a modern, thoughtful, and conscious generation.
