MEMORY THAT PROTECTS

Депутати обласної та районної рад завітали до БТЛ Радовель

What are people capable of? Creating new technologies, discovering galaxies, setting Olympic records, developing cures for severe diseases… But also of something else—looting, terror, war, and famine. Most historians consider the 20th century the bloodiest in world history in terms of the scale of violence and the number of victims.

The Holodomors are among the deepest wounds of the Ukrainian people, felt across generations. The most devastating was the Holodomor of 1932–1933—a genocide orchestrated by the Stalinist regime. It was preceded by forced collectivization, “dekulakization,” grain requisition quotas, and mass terror. The goal was to subjugate the Ukrainian peasantry and destroy the foundations of national identity.

Millions of innocent lives. Millions of stories cut short.

We must remember what humanity is capable of. All the achievements of civilization can turn to nothing if the most important value is lost—the value of every human life.

We bow our heads to our Defenders—those who continue to protect freedom and safeguard the world so that such tragedies never happen again.

Let us remember our history. Let us honor those who perished. Let us support those who are fighting today.
