DAY OF DEFENDERS OF UKRAINE
At the Lyceum, we began this day in our traditional way — with a minute of silence. Then students honored the memory of those who gave their lives for the independence of our country by laying flowers at the Alley of Heroes.
After the second lesson, a special meeting took place in the Lyceum hall. Our school community had the opportunity to meet Ukrainian military poet Vlad Petrash. His poetry is born where words meet fire — in trenches, amid explosions and тревоги. It is poetry that carries the voice of those who fight, dream, love, and remain humane.
Students read Vlad’s poems and then heard from him directly. Despite being currently on the front line, Vlad found the opportunity to record a short video message for our students and teachers. It became a truly meaningful gift for everyone present.
In response, students and teachers recorded words of gratitude for Vlad Petrash, so that he could feel our support even where explosions sound every day.
We thank all our defenders. We remember, appreciate, support, await your return home, and believe in Ukraine’s victory!
