ALL-UKRAINIAN COMPETITION

Депутати обласної та районної рад завітали до БТЛ Радовель

On May 18–19, 2025, the XXV All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust” named after I. B. Medvinsky took place in Kyiv.

From across Ukraine, 42 projects by talented students were selected for the final round. Over two days, participants presented meaningful and powerful research, creative works, and reflections.

Among the laureates of the creative session, students from #BTL_Radovel — Roman Bylyuk and Sofia Patyuk — took FIRST PLACE!

Guided by their history teacher Iryna Levchuk, Roman and Sofia created and presented an original three-act play titled “The Photographer Who Saved…” — a moving story based on real events. The play honors Vasyl Bilyi, one of the Righteous Among the Nations, who saved a Jewish family in the city of Olevsk during World War II.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their creativity, depth, and dedication to preserving memory through art.

This year’s competition was supported by the Jewish Community of Düsseldorf as part of the “Trails of Memory” project, as well as the Gerhard Hauptmann House, the Vaad of Ukraine, and the Embassy of the State of Israel in Ukraine.
