Ukraine Remembers You!
The Lyceum for the Holodomor Victims Day, celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday of November, features educational events, requiems, educational hours, documentary screenings, a children's drawing exhibition and the traditional event “Zasviti Svichku” (Light up a Candle).
During the requiem, a moment of silence was announced, to commemorate the victims of the starvations, as well as participation in the nationwide move “Zasviti Svichku” (Light up a Candle).
In 2003, Holodomor researcher James Mace suggested this move: "Even seven decades later, a candle flickering in the window, in my opinion, seems to be a decent answer."
Tomorrow, anyone willing to participate, can join the move and place a candle on the windowsill.
